Democracy is not a spectator event. Here are three ways to move from observer to participant, whether you're a voter, a civic organization, or a community ready to launch your own covenant.

01

For Voters

Co-Sign the 250/1 Covenant

The 250/1 Citizen Covenant is a public agreement between voters and the candidates who seek to serve them. By co-signing, you become part of the witnessed record that holds any signatory candidate accountable, not by party, not by preference, but by the specific commitments they made in public.

Read the full covenant, all four parts.
Add your name, city, and county to the public record.
Share it with five people before the June 2nd primary.

02

For Civic Organizations

Partner with US4A

Civic leagues, community foundations, faith communities, labor organizations, chambers of commerce, and neighborhood associations are invited to co-sign the covenant as institutions, and to distribute it through their own networks. Institutional co-signers are listed publicly on the covenant record.

Co-sign on behalf of your organization.
Distribute the covenant to your membership.
Host a covenant conversation or town hall.
Link your organization's mission to the cooperative framework.

For Other States

Adopt the Covenant for Your State

The 250/1 Citizen Covenant belongs to every American, for any office, in any state, in America's 250th year. Use it to hold a candidate accountable in your own community, from local school board to Congress to Governor to President.

Download the covenant template and adapt it for any race in your community.
Replace three paragraphs with your state's specific context.
Register your state chapter with US4A.
Your covenant joins the national public record.
